17 August 2026 — 20 new tools (10 → 30)
- Convert into JPG (4 new): HEIC → JPG — iPhone photos, decoded with libheif compiled to WebAssembly so it works in Chrome and Firefox, not just Safari; PDF → JPG — one image per page at 72–600 DPI with page ranges, rendered locally by pdf.js; AVIF → JPG; SVG → JPG — rasterises at any width, and handles the viewBox-only files that most converters turn into an empty image.
- Convert out of JPG (2 new): JPG → BMP (24- or 32-bit) and JPG → TIFF (uncompressed RGB, DPI written into the file) — both encoders written out byte by byte in the page, no library.
- Print and exact sizes (3 new): Change DPI — sets 300 DPI by rewriting the JFIF density and the EXIF resolution tags, leaving the image data untouched; Passport photo — exact mm sizes at 300/600 DPI with an aspect-locked crop and an optional 6×4 in print sheet; Make square — pads to 1:1 with a colour or a blurred fill.
- Edit (5 new): Add watermark (text or logo, positioned or tiled), Add border (with a Polaroid preset), Blur / pixelate a dragged region, Merge JPGs into a row, column, or grid, Split image into tiles.
- Colour (3 new): Black & white / sepia with a proper Rec. 709 luma conversion, Colour picker, Extract palette (median cut → CSS / SCSS / JSON).
- Inspect (3 new): EXIF viewer with GPS resolved to decimal, JPEG quality checker — estimates the quality a file was saved at from its quantization tables, Compare two JPGs — wipe slider plus a pixel diff with PSNR.
- Nav, footer, homepage, and sitemap are now generated from one registry, and there is a / filter box in the nav bar for jumping to a tool by name.
- New sample files: a real HEIC, an AVIF, a viewBox-only SVG, multi-page PDFs, and an edited twin of the main test photo for the diff tool.
10 June 2026 — initial launch
- 10 JPG tools across four categories — Convert, Optimize, Edit, Privacy.
- Batch mode by default, with a one-click Download all (.zip) on every tool.
- Convert (5): PNG → JPG (with background-colour choice for transparency), WebP → JPG (AVIF / GIF / BMP too), JPG → PNG, JPG → WebP, JPG → PDF (upright JPGs embedded without recompression).
- Optimize (2): Compress JPG — including a target-file-size mode that binary-searches quality to hit "max 100 KB"-style limits, Resize JPG — longest edge / width / height / exact / percent, with a never-enlarge guard.
- Edit (2): Crop JPG — drag-select with 1:1 / 4:3 / 3:2 / 16:9 / 9:16 presets, Rotate / flip JPG.
- Privacy (1): Remove EXIF — lossless, byte-level metadata stripping that shows what each photo contained (GPS flagged) and leaves pixels bit-for-bit identical.
- Synthetic sample JPGs including a GPS-tagged EXIF test file.
