Rotate or Flip JPG Images
Fix sideways and upside-down JPGs for good: rotation is baked into the pixels, not hinted with a metadata tag, so the photo displays upright in every app — including the old ones that ignore EXIF orientation. Mirror mode fixes front-camera selfies that came out flipped. Drop a batch and the same transform applies to all of them, entirely in your browser.

How to rotate a JPG
- Drop the photo (or a whole batch needing the same fix).
- Pick the rotation and/or flip. Rotation is applied first, then the flip.
- Click Rotate & download.
Which fix do I need?
- Photo lying on its left side (top points left) → rotate 90° clockwise.
- Photo lying on its right side → rotate 90° counter-clockwise.
- Upside down → 180°.
- Selfie text reads backwards → flip horizontal.
- Scanned negative / slide inserted backwards → flip horizontal, sometimes plus 180°.
After fixing orientation, sideways phone photos headed for a document usually want JPG to PDF next, or Resize JPG if they're going on the web.
FAQ
Why does my photo show sideways in some apps but not others?
Phones often save the photo sideways and add an EXIF orientation tag saying "display me rotated". Modern apps honour the tag; older software ignores it and shows the raw sideways pixels. This tool bakes the correct orientation into the pixels themselves, so the photo is upright everywhere, tag or no tag.
Does rotating a JPG lose quality?
One re-encode happens on save (default quality 0.92) — for a single rotation the difference is practically invisible. This isn't the place for repeated edit cycles, but fixing a sideways photo once is harmless.
What's the difference between rotate 180° and flip?
Rotating 180° turns the image upside down — text stays readable, just inverted. Flipping mirrors it — text becomes mirror-writing. Use flip horizontal to fix mirrored selfies; use rotate for sideways or upside-down shots.
Can I rotate many photos at once?
Yes — drop the batch and the same rotation applies to every file. Handy for a scanner that consistently outputs everything 90° clockwise.
Is anything uploaded?
No — rotation happens in your browser via the canvas API. The photos never leave your device.
